2023 MINdustry Night

UESA, WIM, and MinClub are collaborating to host MINdustry Night, a networking event for students in earth sciences, mineral engineering, environmental sciences, and geography! Two keynote speakers and a variety of industry professionals will join us for an evening of networking!

Early Bird Registration: Complete the registration form by March 15th, 2023 at 11:59pm to be entered into a draw to win a $250 scholarship! Students must attend the event to be entered into the prize draw.

Keynote Speakers

Sarah Hirschorn is the Director of Geoscience at the Nuclear Waste Management Organization. Her technical background is in geochemistry, and she has worked in the research and development and site evaluation programs associated with Adaptive Phased Management, Canada’s approach for long-term management of used nuclear fuel.  In her current role, Sarah is responsible for the NWMO’s geoscientific site investigations activities, as the NWMO continues to assess the suitability of potential sites for hosting a deep geological repository. Sarah obtained her bachelor’s and doctorate degrees in Earth Sciences (then Geology) from the University of Toronto.

Indi Gopinathan is a Board Director and Finance and Strategy leader, with extensive experience in Capital Markets and Natural Resources. Currently, she is a member of the Board of Directors of Ascot Resources Ltd. Previously, she held senior corporate and consulting roles including, most recently, Vice President - Investor Relations and Corporate Communications of an intermediate gold company. She was appointed Adjunct Professor in Mineral Economics at the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering from 2015-19. Ms Gopinathan received a BASc in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Queen’s University. She is a designated P.Eng, and CPA, CMA.
