Activities & Socials

At WIM U of T, we have an exciting year ahead of us! Each month, we are hosting at least one workshop or industry talk to provide students with opportunities to learn, expand their skill sets, and prepare for careers in mining and related geoscience fields. Our goal is to offer engaging, practical experiences that connect classroom learning with real-world industry insights.

2025-2026 Speaker Series

We host one talk per month featuring outstanding speakers, including Dr. Kim Tait, Dr. Barbara Sherwood Lollar, Kanita Khaled, and other leaders in the field.

Sudbury Mines Field Trip

Our second annual Sudbury Mines Field Trip in February 2026 will give 30 motivated students a two-day, hands-on immersion into mining operations, which are touring active sites and geological landmarks, engaging with industry professionals, and gaining valuable technical and career insights within geoscience and mineral engineering.
